টাঙ্গাইলের মির্জাপুরে কালোবাজারে বিক্রির উদ্দেশ্যে মজুত করে রাখা সরকারি ৭০ বস্তা চাল জব্দ করেছে পুলিশ।এই চাল মজুত করার অভিযোগে দোকান মালিক তুলু মিয়া(৪০)নামে এক একজনকে আটক করেছে পুলিশ।
গ্রেপ্তার হওয়া তুলু মিয়া মহেড়া ইউনিয়নের মহেড়া গ্রামের বান্দু মিয়ার ছেলে। সে মহেড়া বাজারে দোকানঘর ভাড়া নিয়ে লাকড়ি ব্যবসা করেন বলে জানা গেছে।
শুক্রবার রাত সাড়ে বারোটার দিকে উপজেলার মহেড়া ইউনিয়নের মহেড়া পিটিসি বাজারের ওই দোকানঘর থেকে চালের বস্তাগুলো জব্দ করা হয়।
জানা গেছে, সরকারের খাদ্যবান্ধব কর্মসূচির ১০ টাকা কেজি চাল গত মঙ্গল, বুধ ও বৃহস্পতিবার ইউনিয়নের ৪,৫,৬ ও ৭ নম্বর ওয়ার্ডে ৫২০ জন দুস্থ অসহায়দের নিকট সরকার নির্ধারিত জনপ্রতি ৩০ কেজি করে বিক্রি করেন স্থানীয় ডিলার আলমগীর হোসেন। চাল উত্তোলনের পর অনেক কার্ডধারী তাদের চাল স্থানীয ব্যবসায়ী তুলু, মফিজ, মোয়াজ্জেম, সুইটি, কাশেম, করিম ও হবির নিকট বিক্রি করেছেন বলে ডিলারের আলমগীর হোসেন জানিয়েছেন। সেই চাল বিক্রির জন্য তুলুর গুডাউনে জমা করে রাখেন তারা। এদিকে দুস্থদের জন্য দেয়া সরকারি চাল মজুদ রাখার খবর পেয়ে রাতে পুলিশ সেখানে অভিযান চালায়। এ সময় ৭০ বস্তা চালসহ তুলু মিয়াকে আটক করেন তারা।
মির্জাপুর থানার উপপরিদর্শক (এসআই) সজল খাদ্যবান্ধব কর্মসূচির চালসহ একজনকে আটকের বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন।
মির্জাপুর উপজেলা নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা আবদুল মালেক বলেন, সরকারি চাল মজুদ রাখার সঙ্গে জড়িতদের বিরুদ্ধে আইনগত ব্যবস্থা নেয়া হবে।
